Project 01 · Music & Ministry

Voices of the Mountain Choir

Born not from a music school, but from the streets — this is a living testimony of hope rising from the ashes of despair.

Voices of the Mountain is the heartbeat of Tine on the Mountain, a choir born from struggle and the triumphant resilience of children who refused to be defined by their circumstances. It is a moving, breathing expression of transformation that began the moment someone chose to care.

Every voice carries a story — a child who once had nothing, now lifting their voice in praise. A young person who once felt invisible, now standing tall and being heard.

Our music is rooted in the rich, vibrant traditions of African cultural praise and worship. It pulses with the rhythm of African drums, dances with the energy of traditional movement, and soars with the passion of voices that have known hardship and found deliverance. When the Voices of the Mountain sing, they do not just perform — they testify.

The choir is also a powerful instrument for sustainability. Every performance helps raise the vital funds that keep Tine on the Mountain's doors open. Every note sung is a meal provided. Every standing ovation is a child given another day of safety, education and love.

The Voices of the Mountain Choir is now beginning to travel to Europe and the United States, sharing their gift with the world. We invite you to book the choir, witness the power of redemption in song, and be part of a movement changing lives one voice at a time.

Project 02 · Residential Care

Second Chance Home

More than just a shelter — it is where a child who has known only hunger, fear and rejection discovers what it means to be loved.

Second Chance Home is the foundation of everything we do at Tine on the Mountain. It is a safe, loving residential home for children rescued from the streets of Kampala — where healing begins.

Here, children find a warm bed, a nutritious meal, and a family that sees them not as a problem to be solved, but as a precious life full of potential. The home serves as the first critical step in a child's journey from survival to thriving.

Key Activities

  • Rescue and outreach to identify children living in dangerous street conditions.
  • Immediate care including medical attention, nutritious meals and clean clothing.
  • Professional counselling and trauma support to begin the healing process.
  • Family tracing and reunification where it's possible.
  • Life skills development including personal hygiene, conflict resolution and financial literacy.
  • Recreational activities including play, sports, art and music — the joy of childhood.

Your Donation Will Ensure

  • A safe and secure home for a child who has known only the dangers of the street.
  • Three nutritious meals a day for a growing child.
  • Access to medical care and counselling to heal both body and mind.
  • A warm bed and clean clothing for a child who once had nothing.
  • The opportunity for a child to experience the joy and innocence of childhood.
  • A foundation of love and stability upon which a brighter future can be built.
